Identification of targets relevant for Therapy

Depending on the amount of tissue and the proportion of tumor in the sample, the diagnostic procedures offered by IndivuTest comprise a broad spectrum of analytical methods. We strive to obtain the most comprehensive picture possible of the individual tumor and for this purpose, we use both frozen and also formalin-fixed tissue. Either tissue samples obtained during surgery or biopsy material (needle/punch/forceps biopsy) are examined.
For some of the tests, ensuring tissue quality through IndivuTest-controlled tissue harvesting and processing is a requirement for the feasibility of the diagnostic testing.

Research-based tumor tissue analysis is recommended by IndivuTest for all patients with advanced (generally metastasized), solid, malignant tumors in which:

  • Effective, established therapy is not available
  • Guideline-based therapy has proven to be ineffective
  • Other reasons argue against the use of the usual standard guide-line therapy

Malignant tumors for which IndivuTest diagnostic procedures are particularly recommended include:

  • Cancer of unknown primary (CUP)
  • Pancreatic carcinoma
  • Hepatic cell carcinoma
  • Cholangiocarcinoma
  • Triple-negative breast carcinoma
  • Metastatic colorectal carcinoma and stomach carcinoma after failure of guideline-based therapy
  • Metastatic breast carcinoma after failure of guideline-based therapy
  • Bronchial carcinoma after failure of guideline-based therapy
